These tuners came from a vintage audio hobbyist/collector, that is letting stuff go, due to a move. See my other items for sale. Looking it over, with just a brief inspection, The tuning dial rotates and works fine throughout the scale. The controls rotate properly, and power on/off works. The top cover do have some scratches.
Due to the units age, this unit is NOT a plug and play item. Due to age, old electrolytic capacitors dry out, go bad, cause power supply overload!
Due to vintage electronic equipment, expect the need for power supply capacitors, as part of restoring the unit to reliable and best operating condition. The tuner does power up, and there's high voltage DC from the power supply, but that don't mean the tuner will work properly.
Old filter can capacitors do develope internal DC resistance, when the old electrolytic cannot form to a DC charge, causing additional DC load on the tube rectifier and power transformer to overheat. If anyone lists a working vintage audio unit, then it should at least have all new electrolytic capacitors replaced, to assure proper operating, and sound. Therefore, the reason item is being listed as parts or restoration. You should be a good technician, that knows how to repair vintage audio equipment, or know someone that does.
Makes a nice restoration project for the electronics hobbyist. The tuner was powered up only for 2 minutes while taking photos only, just to prove that the power transformer is OK, and able to light up the tubes, as seen in the 2 last photos of the back sides of the tuners. No further testing was done. Please inspect photos for condition.
